Larissa O’Grady

Throughout 2021 and 2022, we collaborated on three distinct projects with violinist Larissa O'Grady.

Firstly, we delved into Michael Gordon’s "Tree-Oh," Our contribution involved the creation of an experimental film shot within the premises of Lough Key Forest park, featuring excerpts of Larissa’s performance intertwined with evocative and textural imagery of the park. This film was subsequently projected onto the stage during the performance of Michael Gordon’s composition for three violins, 'Tree-Oh.'

We also filmed and edited the live performance of DISCORD, a groundbreaking musical performance set within a deployable, origami-inspired concert stage. This project, executed in partnership with composer Sam Perkin and sculptor Alex Pentek as part of Dublin Alive 2021, challenged conventional boundaries by seamlessly blending performance with installation art. The piece encompassed the integration of a new electronic-infused solo violin piece, performed against the backdrop of the structure, accompanied by amplified sounds of skateboarding on its wooden surface.

Finally, we undertook the filming of a diverse repertoire of pieces at the Mermaid Arts Center.
